In 2022, the International Women’s Association of Yerevan (IWAY) celebrated its 10th anniversary with its annual Christmas Charity Bazaar, bringing together embassies, local artisans, vendors, NGOs, supporters, and members of the community for a festive day of culture, connection, and giving.
Held on December 4, 2022, at the Best Western Congress Hotel in Yerevan, the Bazaar remained IWAY’s main annual fundraising event, raising funds to support charitable projects benefiting women, children, and families across Armenia, particularly in remote and border communities.
The Bazaar offered visitors a vibrant international experience, with participating embassies presenting national food and handicrafts alongside Armenian handmade products, homemade sweets and treats, local artisans’ work, a “White Elephant” sale, a Grand Raffle, Christmas carols, and other festive activities.
As in previous years, IWAY invited embassies to participate by providing dedicated tables where they could showcase their national traditions and products, with proceeds donated to support IWAY’s charitable work.
The funds raised through IWAY’s Christmas Bazaars have made it possible to implement projects in communities across Armenia, supporting improvements to schools, kindergartens, clinics, and other essential community facilities. These initiatives reflect IWAY’s long-standing commitment to creating meaningful and lasting improvements in the lives of women and children.
The 2022 Bazaar was not only a celebration of the holiday season but also a reflection of ten years of IWAY’s community work, solidarity, and commitment to giving back. Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, participating embassies, vendors, volunteers, and visitors, the event continued to transform festive spirit into meaningful support for communities in need.
IWAY gratefully acknowledges the embassies that supported the 2022 Christmas Charity Bazaar: the Embassies of the People’s Republic of China, Republic of Kazakhstan, Japan, Switzerland, Republic of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Syrian Arab Republic, Republic of Lithuania, United States of America, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and French Republic.
